If you can't beat them...
Every religious school and preachers have their own way of sharing their beliefs. Jack Chick does it his way with comics to share his belief in Christianity.

佛陀的爱
词、曲、编曲:许俊华。唱:唐玉璇、柯佩磊
在心中,有一份爱,那是佛陀的关怀。

它指引着我的心,让我更坚定,去面对每一天.
ta zhi yin zhe wo de xin, rang wo geng jian ding,qu mian dui mei yi tian.
在心中,有一种爱,来自佛陀的关怀。
zai xin zhong, you yi zhong ai,lai zi fo tuo de guan huai.
让我们把这份爱,用心来灌溉,一起去散播开。
rang wo men ba zhe fen ai, yong xin lai guan gai,yi qi qu san bo kai.
让每个人都分享这份爱,让每颗心都能够平静。

The Love Damper
Can you recall any quotes from Buddha after viewing this presentation? Following are some that I have discovered on Briany Quotes:
All things appear and disappear because of the concurrence of causes and conditions. Nothing ever exists entirely alone; everything is in relation to everything else.
Every human being is the author of his own health or disease.
He who loves 50 people has 50 woes; he who loves no one has no woes.
Health is the greatest gift, contentment the greatest wealth, faithfulness the best relationship.
Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.
In a controversy the instant we feel anger we have already ceased striving for the truth, and have begun striving for ourselves.
In the sky, there is no distinction of east and west; people create distinctions out of their own minds and then beleive them to be true.
It is a man's own mind, not his enemy or foe, that lures him to evil ways.
No one saves us but ourselves. No one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk the path.
The mind is everything. What you think you become.
Those who are free of resentful thoughts surely find peace.
There is nothing more dreadful than the habit of doubt. Doubt separates people. It is a poison that disintegrates friendships and breaks up pleasant relations. It is a thorn that irritates and hurts; it is a sword that kills.
To enjoy good health, to bring true happiness to one's family, to bring peace to all, one must first discipline and control one's own mind. If a man can control his mind he can find the way to Enlightenment, and all wisdom and virtue will naturally come to him.
We are formed and molded by our thoughts. Those whose minds are shaped by selfless thoughts give joy when they speak or act. Joy follows them like a shadow that never leaves them.

Story of Su Dongpo & Fo Yin
Beauty is just as it is within or as seen without. Here is the story that inspired this thought.
Do we have the right to judge others?
If you marked, scratched or scrawl letters on walls that don't belong to you, it's vandalism. Not matter how beautiful the image of your graffiti is, it is a crime. But do we have the right to judge those who express themselves this way?
If vandalism is an acceptable act, what would your messages be like? Here are mine.

Seeing communication.
Are you sending the wrong message with your actions?
Be mindful.
Be mindful.
A short story
Though I am a Buddhist I attended a Catholic convent school as a child. I see similar philosophy shared in both religions. Don't you?

Fables? Write your own.
All religion teaches about doing good. Think about a moral educational story you have heard before and create a fable out of it.
That feeling of security in belief.

What is Deepavali about?
Do you see any similarities in the celebration of Deepavali with your own festive celebration? Do the people celebrating Deepavali share beliefs similar to what you practiced in your own religion?

Moral education is boring?
Moral education can be fun if you can find a way to engage the students. What form of media would they prefer to learn from?
Take a look at a book of cartoons created by Bro. Oh Teik Bin from Teluk Intan, Malaysia on ToonDoo.
Do you think it will work? Try to create your own methods based on the interest of the children under your care.

Similarities in this religious teachings
The sign that you see on the first slide represents the "sacred" Hindu sound om (ohm or aum).
Do you see any similarities in this teaching to that taught in your own religion?
This is not unlike an advise against having attachments in Buddhist teaching. I do wonder if this teaching came from the same source but now appears in different form through reincarnations.

Is it difficult to forgive?
Remember that to err is human. Being able to recall the good points of people you care about makes it easier to forgive them when they hurt you.

If animals could speak...
If animals could speak what would they say?
Animals can't speak but they can think like you and I.
Free and equal speech?
Who will be our voice?
Know your rights?
Who will fight for our rights to roam free?
Our land is no longer familiar...
Who will fight for our rights to habitat?
It's no longer safe to breed here...
Who will fight for our rights to migrate?
You have changed the eco system...
It's no longer safe on earth
Who will fight for our young?
Where can we go?
Who will be our voice?

What is being mindful about?

Start with a cause.
What is the best way to reach out? Start with a cause. What is bothering you at the moment? Can't think of one? Find out what is bothering:
1) your family members
2) your neighbours
3) people around you: your friends, classmates, teachers
4) people you dislike
5) you
Let's start with a global issue; proverty.
When you have a cause, you can take action.
If you do not have the solution at the moment just start by creating an awareness for what you belief in.

Learn from the unexpected.
Sometimes all we have to do is to look at what are around us to learn some values. Learn from the unexpected to teach. That should make learning interestesting.
Let's start with the pencil.
Is that all the values we can teach with pencils? You can teach them how to be creative with it and I am not talking about sketching.
That is what taking care of the environment is about. Re-use when you can and reduce usage by writing online.

I am talking about teaching the young and zippy. How would they like to be taught?
Don't loose your knowledge and experience. Share them online.

What do I want? I am looking for people who are willing to share values and beliefs they have picked up as they grow.

Ask to Receive
Are you looking for teaching materials to help empower children? Did you ask around for them?
I did.
